Metapost: October Updates!

This wasn't "newsletter" material, but I wanted to do a mega-metapost to collect some of the cool things that have happened this past month, and some of what we have to look forward to.

On the metapost round-up, we have:
  • There is now a Current Comments sidebar that shows the recent comment in active threads.
  • There is now a Footer Bar. But I don't like it, so if you like it, speak up now before it's gone.
  • There is a Newsletter to subscribe to! For every person that joins, I pat one of my kitties.
  • There is a ROT 13 button for easy access on the header bar. Lrnu!
  • There are now Site Comments, so there's no reason NOT to share your pie filling preferences.
And what do you have to look forward to?
  • I hope to implement a Blog Roll soon, so that I can link to all ya'lls awesome blogs.
  • I will be slightly changing the ads on the blog, as well as putting up an Advertisement f.a.q to clarify what the ads on the blog mean, and why they exist. It will be riveting reading.
  • On the Deconstruction front... more of the same! And I hope you'll like it. If I ever get my wish to be a stay-at-home-invalid, I hope to start a few more long-running series.

A list of conversations the meta posts have been used for:

Current Comments - Nothing yet, go forth and conquer this thread. It does have a Columbo reference in it.

Footer Bar - On topic discussion of how the bar showed up in various browsers.

Newsletter - Will claimed this thread for NaNoWriMo in the first comment. Also a discussion of how much checking of the site was healthy.

ROT 13 - Very much on topic, early mention of the footer bar.

Site Comments - Author interviews, current comments, criticism, Brin's popularity, vampire names, and that might be it.
