I own quite a few quilting books and once you get past the basics that every book includes, the real question is whether this book has anything you haven't already seen in another book. In this case, there's nothing here that you can't find elsewhere, but there is an awful lot of variety.

Although this book includes many bed quilts, it's really more of a "quilt projects" book. There are plenty of good ideas for how to use puffy quilt "biscuits", including kitchen potholders and basket liners. There's a Halloween trick-or-treat bag, Christmas ornaments and tree skirt, and lots of seasonal quilted projects. All of them look professionally done, although this is definitely a "country kitchen" quilting book, so if you like a more modern quilted look, be aware of that.

The bed quilts here are varied and very pretty. There's a beautiful variation on the Texas Star and Broken Star quilts that involves a "star" made entirely out of square blocks - perfect if you're a square quilter like me (I use an AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutter, with square dies). The visual is quite striking, and square quilting is easier for me to piece on my machine. I really recommend this book, especially since the price is such a bargain.
