Metapost: Disqus Comments

It has been brought to my attention that the default Blogger comment engine doesn't allow users to edit their posts. This will not stand. I make typos. I edit my blog posts a dozen times after they go live. Comments doubly so.

However, not to fear! I've integrated Disqus into the blog comments, so you should now be able to edit your posts, assuming that you signed in prior to post. I'm fairly certain that anonymous comments can't be edited.

The downside to all this is that as soon as I integrated Disqus, all the old Blogger comments disappeared. *sad* They're still in the Blogger moderation panel that I can view, but the Disqus comment forms are masking the old Blogger comments. If anyone knows how to migrate the old Blogger comments to the new Disqus format, please let me know. If that's not possible, then I apologize profusely to the wonderful commenters I've had so far, and please feel free to re-post your wonderful comments.

I'm hoping this Disqus thing should work. High points are:

1. Commenters shouldn't have to log in to comment.
2. If commenters do log in to comment, they can use a variety of existing site logins.
3. If commenters do log in to comment, they should be able to correct typos and edit posts, if they want.

Please let me know if the comment form does anything wacky and I'll fix it just as soon as I can. Thanks!

Disqus save time and is useful, because commenters do log in to comment, and they can use the account for commenting to a variety of existing sites.
