Open Thread: Vampire Tarot

This has absolutely nothing to do with Twilight, but I thought this was a very pretty vampire tarot that deserved to be shared. (Though I feel like you can't tell, minus the card titles, what the card is. So there's that.)

Open Thread Ideas: What vampire merchandise (both serious and spoofing) have you found to be pleasing in your sight?

The shower curtains and women's underwear with Robert Pattinson's face printed on their surface make me simultaneously cringe and giggle. That poor kid.

I know I've posted this before, and it's not merchandise, but my favorite vampire-related thing ever is still http://subterraneanpress.com/magazine/spring_2012/sic_him_hellhound_kill_kill_by_hal_duncan .

(TW: violence, sex, brief scene of suicidal character.)

Meh, it's no Mage: the Awakening tarot, I'll tell you that.

That story is great! Thanks so much for sharing it! Even apart from the parody, it's just really well written! I really loved it!

Dav, that story is so very good.

Derailing the open thread: how are other prospective NaNovelists doing in the run-up to November? I have now completely changed my intended story three times and am feeling flighty and indecisive on the whole, but this third (hopefully final) idea is much lower on the kinds of problems that I felt I had with the others. So, for the moment, 'wizard convention murder mystery that abruptly turns into Cthulhu Groundhog Day' is a go.

(I am also deep in Arrow Panic, finding ways to interpret basically any aspect of the story as terribly problematic.)

I do that, the arrow thing.

I have to remind myself that (a) problematic is both subjective and repetitive (i.e., one woman in the kitchen is a preference; a dozen women in kitchens is a trend) and (b) that good stuff that isn't perfect is still more important to have on the market than bad stuff that isn't perfect. (See the Questing for QUILTBAGs post on Slacktiverse, etc.)

I seriously have no time this year, which is too bad, because I have an idea that I like for the first time ever: horrible apocalypse fungus creates jobs for itenerant health inspector-detective to solve murder mystery/political conspiracy.

I'm sure everyone's familiar with the "and Buffy staked Edward" T-Shirt from Jinx.com. Well, have an Edward and Bela T-shirt. Nope , not a typo.

I've used that tarot deck and I really like it. The art is gorgeous and it gives clear readings (at least in my hands) Also, going into my 11th year doing NaNo.

I don't think there's any vampire merchandise that I really find very interesting... except maybe realistic-looking fangs?

But I do keep seeing mentions of the book "Vampires in Their Own Words: An Anthology of Vampire Voices". I don't know if anyone's read it, but from what I can tell, it looks interesting.

Not even trying this year. Perhaps next year. Right now, I'm just being happy that I'm writing fan fic instead of staring at a blank white computer screen.
